Lotus Communications has promoted Larry Mac to Director of Operations & Programming for its entire Tucson cluster.
Mac originally joined the cluster in 2007 as APD/MD/midday host for Classic Rock 96.1 KLPX and rose to Operations Manager/PD of KLPX and Rock/Alternative 102.1 KFMA in 2016 and later adding oversight of AC “94.9 Mix-FM” KMXZ, Sports “ESPN Tucson” 1490 KFFN, and Classic Country “93.3 Hank-FM” KLPX-HD3. With his new promotion, Mac also adds oversight of Regional Mexican “La Caliente 92.1/95.7” KCMT and “La Buena 94.3” 990 KTKT. He will also continue hosting afternoons on KLPX.
The company says the move supports Lotus’ “ongoing efforts to better align stations within each market, creating greater consistency across operations, promotions, and systems”. Mac will work closely with Spanish Operations Manager Enrique Mayans.
General Manager Dee Anne Thomas said, ““We’re excited about the continued growth of our Spanish-language and General Market stations under this collaborative leadership structure. Larry brings more than 19 years of experience and a deep commitment to our Tucson operations.”
Prior to arriving in Tucson in 2007, Mac held on-air and programming roles at KUPD, KUKQ and KEDJ Phoenix and KVGS Las Vegas. He commented, “I’m excited to take on this new challenge with Arizona Lotus and continue building great radio across Southern Arizona. I’m grateful to Lotus Corp and General Manager Dee Anne Thomas for the trust and opportunity, and I look forward to working closely with Enrique and his team to strengthen our programming and connection with listeners.”
