After exactly six years in afternoons at Audacy Sports “105.7 The Fan” WJZ-FM Catonsville/Baltimore MD, Jason La Canfora has exited the station.
A Baltimore native, La Canfora joined WJZ-FM in February 2020 to co-host “Inside Access” from 2-6pm with Ken Weinman. La Canfora began his career as a newspaper reporter covering the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings for the Detroit Free Press and spent a decade covering the NFL’s Washington Redskins for the Washington Post before joining NFL.com and the NFL Network as an “insider” and reporter in 2009. He would then move to a similar role at CBS Sports in 2012 where he continues. Prior to taking afternoons at WJZ-FM, La Canfora also served as a regular contributor to Audacy’s Sports stations around the country.
In a memo to staff, Audacy Baltimore SVP/Market Manager Tracy Brandys confirmed his departure from the station adding, “We will begin the process of identifying his replacement and will post the position in the near future. We wish Jason the best in his future endeavors.” La Canfora told the Baltimore Banner, ““I’m definitely not on radio today!”
Co-host Ken Weinman and producer Tim Barbalace will remain in afternoons.
