Just nine months after its launch as Soft AC “Lite 95.9“, WIOP Charleston has flipped again.
The Apex Broadcasting station has now shifted to Hot AC as “Mix 95.9” using the tagline “Today’s Best Music Without The Rap”. The move places the station in-between Clear Channel AC “Y102.5” WXLY, Cumulus CHR “95SX” WSSX, and sister Variety Hits “101.7 Chuck-FM” WAVF.
In the Fall 2011 ratings, WIOP registered a 1.7 share. With new sister 103.1 WMXZ Fort Walton Beach, FL dropping its calls yesterday it may make sense to shift them to 95.9.
