Clear Channel flipped 103.1 K276EL Austin from a simulcast of Sports “1300 The Zone” KVET to Rhythmic AC “Jammin 103.1” at 3pm today.

Clear Channel lists featured artists on “Jammin 103.1” to include The Isley Brothers, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Rhianna, Flo Rida, and Jennifer Lopez.

The EMF Broadcasting owned translator was moved into Austin from San Marcos last year and covers much of the city with 250 watts. The translator is being fed by 98.1 KVET-HD2.

This returns the “Jammin” moniker to the Austin market. 105.9 KFMK used the name for its Jammin Oldies and Rhythmic AC incarnations from 1998 through 2009. The station then flipped to Urban as “The Beat” before a frequency swap shifted it to 102.3 after 105.9 was sold to Crista Ministries which turned it into Christian AC “Spirit 105.9” in September 2010.
