Update 7/13: With the sale a few on-air hosts have been dismissed. Morning co-host Chip Brown departs “The Bud Light Morning Rush” while co-host Erin Hogan remains. Early afternoon co-host Chance Mock departs the “Adams Theory” program while Sean Adams remains, and Geoff Ketchum is out as Chad Hasting’s co-host of the 4-7pm “The Drive”.
Original Report 7/12: The final pair of stations in Border Media’s Austin cluster to be sold have now changed hands.
The Border Media Business Trust has sold Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX-FM Bee Cave/1260 KWNX Taylor to Total Austin Sports Radio LLC. for $2.5 Million.
Based on the company’s name I think its fair to say that the current format will be retained. Following the sales of the Austin stations (pending UT’s approval of its purchase of 98.9 KXBT), the Border Media trust will only need to sell off the San Antonio cluster as Laredo and Rio Grande Valley have been sold in recent months.
