Radio Active Media has flipped Hot AC “Q102” 101.9 WQXQ Central City, KY to Sports using Fox Sports Radio.
The 100kW station serves the Owensboro, KY market and rimshots Evansville, IN with its 60 dBu contour going through the city. The move gives the Evansville market two FM Sports signals along with The Original Company’s “ESPN 106.7” WYFX-FM.

I listened to Q102 many times on trips to/from Nashville when I was in college at the University of Evansville. It’s interesting that they flipped to sports, but when you compare it with the WYFX coverage area there isn’t much city-grade overlap between the two. It will be interesting to see if WQXQ will be able to pry away the University of Kentucky broadcast rights from WBKR in Owensboro.
