Original Report 10/4: Midwest Family Broadcasting is preparing its first programming change at its recently acquired Eau Claire, WI cluster.
Rock “92.9 The Big Cheese” WECL Elk Mound is stunting with all-Metallica as it prepares to rebrand and shift to Active Rock. 929TheX.com was registered last week by WECL Station Manager Rick Roberts and a Twitter account at @929TheX simply states 10/7/13 in its bio.

is stunting for a rebrand really necessary. If i turn on 92.9 to hear rock, than I’ll listen to it, whatever it wants to call itself. There’s been way too much hype built around rebranding a station, flip the switch at midnight, start using a different name, and just use social media to let people know it has been rebranded. It does nothingfor the listener, but hey at least it does something for Metallica fans.
