Station Sales

iHeartMedia has not been an outright buyer of a station in quite some time. That changed this weeks as the company purchased Hot AC “92.9 The Boss” KOLT-FM Warren AFB/Cheyenne WY from Valley Bank And Trust for $500,000. The bank has owned KOLT-FM since former owner Joli Lofstedt’s Tracy Broadcasting Company defaulted on a loan in 2014. KOLT-FM will become iHeart’s third FM in the Cheyenne market joining “Big Country 97.9” KXBG Cheyenne and Country “100.7 KOLT-FM” KOLZ.

The Moody Bible Institute is purchasing Classic Country 1200 WAMB Nashville TN and its two translators from Great Southern Broadcasting Company for $414,000. The two translators are 98.7 W254CK Nashville and 99.3 W257AR Donelson TN. The sale’s closing is contingent on W254CK’s application to increase to 250 watts being approved by the FCC.

Catholic operator Sacred Heart Radio adds an additional signal in the Cincinnati area with the purchase of AAA 910 WPFB Middletown OH from Northern Kentucky University for $450,000 and a $500 per month tower rental. WPFB will simulcast 740 WNOP Newport KY and 88.5 WHSS Hamilton OH.

Cornerstone University sells Christian AC 89.7 WCXG Grand Rapids MI to West Central Michigan Media Ministries for $1.5 million. WCXG currently simulcasts Cornerstone’s 91.3 WCSG Grand Rapids.

Azteca Broadcasting Company sells Regional Mexican pair 1370 KGEN Tulare and 94.5 KGEN-FM Hanford/Visalia CA to Jose Arredondo’s JA Ventures for $800,000.

Davis Broadcast Company purchases Classic Hits “Kool 99.3” KEFH Clarendon TX from Alliance Broadcast Communications for $40,000. Davis owns Country 105.3 KLSR Memphis/Clarendon TX.

Translator Sales

One translator will be leaving the Minneapolis/St. Paul market while another will be incoming.

Refuge Media Group sells the CP for 99.1 K256CO St. Paul to Main Street Broadcasting for $100,000. Main Street is the licensee for Oldies 1170 KOWZ Waseca MN.

Edgewater Broadcasting sold 96.3 W242BB Medford WI to Hmong Radio Broadcast for $35,000. Hmong Radio Broadcast owns 1590 WIXK New Richmond WI/St. Paul.

WLOK Radio buys 105.5 K288FD Arkadelphia AR from First Ventures Capital Partners for $30,000 minus a $10,000 credit towards tower rent from April through June 2016. The translator will be moved to Memphis to rebroadcast the buyer’s Gospel 1340 WLOK Memphis from the tower of 830 WGUE Memphis.

La Zeta 95.7 Inc. acquires 98.3 K252DT Seneca KS from First Ventures for $37,500. K252DT will rebroadcast Spanish Christian “Radio Victory” 1120 KETU Catoosa/Tulsa OK.

Midwest Communications is purchasing three translators from Edgewater paying a combined $82,500 for 93.1 K226BF Moose Lake MN, 93.3 W227BB Fremont MI and 95.5 W238AX Savanna IL.

Seven Mountains Media is buying 96.7 W244DB South Williamsport and 105.5 W288DE Williamsport PA from GEOS Communications for $90,000. Seven Mountains owns two AMs that will likely be paired with these translators: News/Talk 670 WIEZ Lewistown and Sports “ESPN 1150” WHUN Huntingdon.

Latin World Broadcasting purchases 94.7 K234BB Harlan IA from Edgewater for $35,000. The translator will be paired with Regional Mexican “La Reina 1260” KDLF Boone/Des Moines in the upcoming AM waiver period.

KZIA Inc. acquires 95.1 K236AA Cedar Rapids IA from Family Stations for $60,000. The translator will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 102.9 KZIA Cedar Rapids.

SN Radio purchases the CP for 105.3 W287CH Greenville SC from Community Public Radio for $50,000. SN will pair the translator with News/Talk 1450 WGNC Gastonia NC.

Virginia Tech University sells 107.5 W298BQ Covington VA to WVJT LLC. for $12,000 to rebroadcast AC “101.9 The River” 1230 WXCF Clifton Forge VA.

Professional Antenna, Tower and Translator Service sells 98.9 K255BL Craig, 96.7 K244AB Gunnison and 107.1 K296AL Crested Butte CO to Catholic Radio Network for $43,500. All three will rebroadcast Catholic 1060 KRCN Longmont/Denver.

Forbis Communications purchases 103.5 W278AD Central City KY from Heartland Ministries for $22,500. W278AD will rebroadcast 1150 WLOC Munfordville KY.

ITM LLC. buys 93.7 K229CI Aguila AZ from Advance Ministries for $50,000 to rebroadcast Talk 1130 KQNA Prescott AZ.
