Domain Insight 2/21: Upcoming Changes In San Antonio & Lafayette

[membership level="2,3"] A change appears on the way to one of Alpha Media's San Antonio stations. Plus upcoming changes in Lafayette LA and Prineville OR. Alpha Media appears to be bringing Tejano to one of its San Antonio properties. Eleven domains were registered on Friday pointing towards Regional Mexican " La Ley 95.7 " KLEY-FM Jourdanton and potentially simulcaster 103.1 KHHL Karnes City becoming " Tejano 95.7 ". The domains registered were 957FMTejano.com , MyTejano957.com , MyTejanoSA.com , NewTejano957.com , PuroTejano957.com , Tejano957.com , Tejano957FM.com , Tejano957Radio.com , TejanoCapital.com , TejanoForLife.com, and TejanoSanAntonio.com . A flip to Tejano would bring the format back to a full-powered FM signal (albeit rimshot) for the first time since 107.5 KXTN-FM flipped to Rhythmic AC " 107.5 The Vibe " KVBH in 2019. The new format would compete with Univision's 1350 KXTN and Claro Communications' " Radio Jalapeno " 1540 KEDA and network of translators. KLEY-FM registered a 0.4 share in the Holiday 2021 Nielsen Audio ratings. KXTN had a 0.5, while KEDA does not subscribe to Nielsen. Delta Media looks to be bringing the Soft Oldies " MeTV-FM " brand to one of its Lafayette LA properties. Delta has registered both 977MeTVFM.com and 1053MeTVFM.com with the former currently being Oldies " The Rewind " 1330 KVOL/97.7 K249EY Lafayette and the latter being rimshot Regional Mexican " La Caliente 105.3 " KSLO-FM Simmesport. Horizon Broadcast Group looks to be flipping Classic Country 690 KRCO /96.9 K245BC Prineville OR to Sports. Registrations for 690TheTicket.com and 969TheTicket.com were made for the station.
