Domain Insight 5/10: Is Podcast Radio Expanding After This Week's Layoffs?

[membership level="2,3"] The UK based Podcast Radio first launched in America on four Beasley Media stations in Charlotte, Detroit, Fort Myers, and Tampa last September. Now following layoffs at Beasley and Alpha Media this week, is the brand ready to expand elsewhere? A number of " Podcast Radio " related domains have been registered last week starting with domains for both companies with PodcastRadioAlpha.com and PodcastRadioBeasley.com. Those were accompanied by domains for the three Missouri markets purged by Alpha Media this week: PodcastRadioFarmington.com , PodcastRadioFestus.com , and PodcastRadioMoberly.com . Domains were also registered for two markets not associated with either company: PodcastRadioNashville.com and PodcastRadioSavannah.com . Those registrations followed ones made in late April for a number of states and Washington DC: PodcastRadioArizona.com , PodcastRadioCalifornia.com , PodcastRadioColorado.com , PodcastRadioFlorida.com , PodcastRadioGeorgia.com , PodcastRadioIllinois.com , PodcastRadioIndiana.com , PodcastRadioMassachusetts.com , PodcastRadioMichigan.com , PodcastRadioMissouri.com , PodcastRadioNewJersey.com , PodcastRadioNewYork.com , PodcastRadioOhio.com , PodcastRadioPennsylvania.com , PodcastRadioTexas.com , PodcastRadioVirginia.com , and PodcastRadioWashingtonDC.com . The WKOE call letters and " Coast Country " branding appear to be returning to Cape May County NJ. Regional Media has applied to change the call letters of Alternative " Planet 106.3 " WJSE North Cape May to WKOE, which were previously used by the station when it was on 106.7 from 2008 to 2010 and a previous 106.3 licensed to Ocean City from 1992 to 2006. The 106.7 iteration of WKOE was branded as " Coast Country 106.7 " and now a registration has been made for 1063CoastCountry.com . A flip to Country would join Townsquare Media's " Cat Country 107.3 " WPUR Atlantic City and Rick Brancandora's " Hot Country 101 " 1020 WWAC Ocean City-Somers Point and three translators airing Country in the Atlantic City/Cape May market.
