CTVGlobemedia has closed on $27 Million purchase of Urban “Flow 93.5” CFXJ Toronto from Milestone Radio and with it goes a majority of the staff and a tweak in the format. The station has shifted a more Rhythmic CHR direction billing itself as the “Home of Hip-Hop, Dance, and R&B”.
The majority of the air-staff has been let go along with the production, promotions, and sales staff and the cancellation of all specialty shows on the station. The station’s website is hyping that a new morning show will debut on Valentines Day.
Is a name change also in the works? Rumors abound that the station will rebrand as “93.5 The Bounce” similar to CTV’s CHR’s in Edmonton and Halifax. Related domains, 935TheBounce.ca, TheBounce935.ca and their .com counterparts were registered by a Toronto resident on Tuesday but we have not been able to directly connect them to the station yet.
