Update 12/21: CHFM will complete its rebranding from “Lite 95.9” to “Kiss 95.9” on Boxing Day, December 26.
Many elements of Lite’s website have already begun the transformation as it redirects to Kiss959.com. CHFM had been phasing out the Lite moniker since our original report, as it had been identifying itself on air as just “95.9“.
Original Report 8/6: As Rogers Media prepares to rebrand its four “EZ Rock” branded stations in Ontario, another one of their former AC’s looks to be heading towards a new name.
“Lite 95.9” CHFM Calgary is one of many Canadian AC’s that have shifted to more of an Adult CHR direction over the past few years making their old branding seem out of place. Domain registrations have been made this week for 959Calgary.com .ca .net .org, Calgary959.com .ca .net .org, Kiss959.com .ca .net .org, and 959Kiss.ca .net .org (959Kiss.com is used by WAKZ Youngstown OH).
CHFM is not a struggling station. It placed fourth in the market with a 7.9 share in the February 25 to May 26 BBM survey, but lead the market in CUME.
