Original Report 12/21: Another of Clear Channel’s 90s oriented Gen X branded stations appears to be on the way out.
A logo for “97.3 Hit Music Now” has appeared on Clear Channel’s logo server attached to WGEX Bainbridge/Albany, GA. A move to CHR would pit the station against Cumulus Adult CHR “Q102” WNUQ.
WGEX has been running Christmas music since mid-November. 973HitMusicNow.com has been registered by Clear Channel and a Twitter account has appeared at @973HitMusicNow.
WGEX shares a significant amount of overlap with 107.1 WGMY Thomasville, GA/Tallahasse, FL, which rebranded as “107.1 Hit Music Now” in August.
