The station hasn’t changed its Conservative Talk format, but the “Rush Radio” brand is out at Clear Channel’s 94.5 WPTI Eden/Greensboro, NC.

WPTI is now positioning itself as “The Piedmont’s Talk Station” and using its call letters for branding. The station joins sister 106.1 WTKK Raleigh in dropping the “Rush Radio” brand over the past couple months. The moniker is still in use by Clear Channel Talkers in New Orleans and Fort Pierce, FL.

INSTANT INSIGHT: While Rush and Clear Channel continue to go out of their way to insist that there isn’t anything wrong with Rush’s brand and revenue, actions speak louder than words. You don’t rebrand a station unless you have something that needs fixing and dropping the “Rush Radio” brand is the action that Clear Channel has now taken in two North Carolina markets.
