Hengooch, LLC is selling Sports “ESPN 97.1” WYND-FM Hatteras, NC to EMF Broadcasting for $1.
EMF has concurrently filed for a main studio waiver and to convert the station to non-commercial operation. WYND-FM will fill a coverage hole for EMF, as they don’t have a station serving the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Hengooch acquired WYND-FM along with Alternative “99.1 The Sound” WVOD Manteo and “Classic Hits 92.3/104.9” simulcast 92.3 WZPR Nags Head/104.9 WFMZ Hertford in 2010 for $200,000. The remaining stations will continue to be operated by Max Radio of The Carolinas along with their owned “Water Country 94.5” WCMS Hatteras and Hot AC “Beach 104.1” WCXL Kill Devil Hills.
