In 2009, Cumulus Media swapped five Green Bay market stations to Clear Channel in exchange for a pair of stations in Cincinnati. While Cumulus continued to operate the Green Bay stations via LMA, Clear Channel had a put agreement in the contract allowing them to require Cumulus to repurchase the stations between July 1 and September 1, 2013 for the set aside price of $17,636,643.
Clear Channel has exercised the clause and will be selling the five stations back to Cumulus. The stations are Hot AC “Star 98” 98.5 WQLH Green Bay, Classic Hits 103.1 WOGB Kaukauna, Country “Nash FM 104.9” WPCK Denmark, and Sports simulcast “1400/107.5 The Fan” WDUZ Green Bay/WDUZ-FM Billion. Cumulus had retained ownership of AAA “KRUZ 106.7” WKRU Allouez.
