Univision has flipped Spanish Tropical Oldies “Mami 92.7” WQBU Garden City/New York to Spanish News/Talk as part of its Univision America network. WQBU becomes the tenth station in Univision’s portfolio to switch to the national programming after the nine stations that launched the network last year. Some of the network programming had been heard on sister 1280 WADO, but this move gives the full lineup clearance in New York.
WQBU debuted its now former “Mami” format in November 2012. In the February 2014 Nielsen Audio PPM ratings the station generated a 0.6 share in the New York market and 0.5 on Long Island.
