Update 8/1: CKMP completed its “update” at 9am today as it rebranded to “90.3 Amp” promoting “Twice The Music”.
CKMP is utilizing Sparknet’s “Quickhitz” format of abbreviated songs to play more music per hour. Amp is promoting that it will play 24 songs per-hour as opposed to the 12 it played before the switch.

Original Report 7/22: Newcap CHR “90.3 Amp Radio” CKMP-FM Calgary has gone jockless as it counts down to a relaunch on Thursday, August 1 at 9:00am.
CKMP has also dropped all of its specialty programming in preparation of the reboot of the station. The change comes as current OM/PD Paul Kaye is transferring to sister “Z95.3” CKZZ Vancouver.
90.3 is currently ranked third of the three Calgary stations in the CHR spectrum. Rogers Adult CHR “Kiss 95.9” CHFM was fourth overall in the BBM February 24-May 25 PPM ratings. Bell Media CHR “Virgin Radio 98.5” CIBK had a 5.7 share, while Amp trailed with a 4.9 share placing it eleventh out of seventeen stations in the market.
