The University of Missouri has announced it is acquiring 90.5 KWWC-FM Columbia, MO from Stephens College for $50,000 and an additional $50,000 in underwriting.
KWWC-FM will become the University of Missouri’s second station in Columbia joining Public Talk/Classical 91.3 KBIA. Upon closing of the sale, Missouri plans to move the Classical music programming to 90.5. At that time KBIA will air Public News/Talk programming from 4am to 7pm daily and Classical music at night.
Stephens College will keep the Variety programming of KWWC-FM alive via the internet following the sale. KWWC-FM operates with 1.25kW at 40 meters covering much of Columbia proper.
