First Media Radio completed its Christmas stunting on WZAX Nashville/Rocky Mount NC and launched Rhythmic Hot AC “Movin 99.3” on January 1.
The new format features a mix of Hot AC currents/recurrents and upbeat gold from the 80s and 90s. David Lee Joyner and cluster Market Manager Kevin Bullock will host mornings. The station joins the way too long list of new format launches this season to come with a lack of a web or social media presence.
Original Report 11/30: First Media Radio Classic Rock “99.3 Rock City” WZAX Nashville/Rocky Mount NC has dropped its branding and currently airing Christmas Music.
Currently positioning just under its frequency and call letters, WZAX is still running the syndicated Free Beer & Hot Wings show in mornings. WZAX flipped to Classic Rock in January 2015 after a long stunt with a broad mix of music for a month. No word yet on what to expect on WZAX after the holiday season.
