Entercom AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX Boston has announced the addition of Karen Blake as afternoon host.

Blake most recently hosted mornings on CCB Media Hot AC “99.9 The Q” WQRC Cape Cod for the past five years. She has also spent many years in the Boston market as morning host at Rhythmic AC “Star 93.7” WQSX from 1996-2005 and morning and afternoon host at Classic Hits 103.3 WODS from 2005-2012.

Blake fills the daypart that had been held by Mark Laurence.

Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., named radio veteran Karen Blake as the new afternoon drive host for Magic 106.7 (WMJX-FM), Boston’s Iconic Adult Contemporary station, effective immediately. Blake can be heard on air, weekdays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.

“Karen is a legendary personality with a storied career in Boston, and we are excited to welcome her to the Magic 106.7 family,” said Mark Hannon, Regional President and Market Manager, Entercom Boston.

The move marks Blake’s return to Boston after serving as morning drive host for WQRC on Cape Cod for the last five years. Prior to her time at WQRC, Blake served seven years as host of the morning and afternoon drives for WODS-FM (now sister station 103.3 AMP Radio) in Boston. From 1996 to 2005, Blake hosted the morning drive for WQSX-FM (now sister station WEEI).
