Paul ‘Cubby’ Bryant Moves From WKTU To WLTW Mornings

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
May 16, 2019

106.7 Lite-FM WLTW New York Bob Bronson Christine NagyiHeartMedia has announced that Paul ‘Cubby’ Bryant will move from mornings at 103.5 WKTU Lake Success/New York across the hall to “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW starting Tuesday, May 28.

Bryant will join incumbent co-host Christine Nagy for “Cubby & Christine In The Morning”. Bryant has been with iHeartMedia New York since 1996 when he joined CHR “Z100” WHTZ as afternoon host. He moved to WKTU in 2006 as co-host of the nationally syndicated “Wakeup With Whoopi” alongside Whoopi Goldberg. He has also worked in Houston and his native Norfolk during his career. He fills the opening created by Bob Bronson’s exit last week.

A new co-host to join Carolina Bermudez on WKTU will be announced soon.

iHeartMedia’s 106.7 Lite FM, New York’s Best Variety, announced today the debut of the new “Cubby & Christine in the Morning Show,” effective Tuesday, May 28. “Cubby & Christine in the Morning” will broadcast weekday mornings from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The “Cubby & Christine in the Morning Show,” anchored by two of New York’s most popular on-air personalities, Cubby and Christine, will feature the latest entertainment headlines and news, and will showcase a variety of fun morning rapport and content. The show will include popular fan favorite interactive on-air games, such as the Nearly Impossible Question, a daily on-air game that asks listeners tough questions for the chance to win prizes, Crazy First Dates, a daily feature where listeners call in and dish the details of their crazy first dates and Tuesday’s True Confession, a feature in which listeners share their most hilarious confessions every Tuesday.

“Cubby is one of New York’s most entertaining and highly respected on-air personalities, and we’re incredibly excited that he’ll be joining the Lite FM family,” said Chris Conley, 106.7 Lite FM Program Director and AC Brand Manager at iHeartMedia New York. “Cubby & Christine’s unique chemistry combined with their engaging personalities and dedication to their listeners make them the perfect duo and an incredible addition to an already stellar Lite FM lineup.”

“I’m ecstatic about this next chapter in my career with iHeartMedia,” said Cubby. “After 10 years at Z100 and 13 years at 103.5 KTU, I’m ready to start a long run at 106.7 Lite FM. I have a huge passion for the format, and I’ve known Christine since 1996 from our Z100 days and have always been fond of her on and off the air. How do you pass up mornings in America’s #1 media market at one of America’s top radio stations? I want to thank iHeartMedia for granting me this opportunity, and I’ll work my butt off to keep this baby on top and the Lite shining bright.”

“I’m so thrilled to begin this new venture doing mornings with my friend Cubby,” said Christine. “We’ve known each other since our days at Z100, but this will be our first opportunity to do a show together! Cubby is an amazing on-air personality and incredible person and with having Producer Jamie on board, we are going to have so much fun working together on morning drive and I can’t wait for our Lite-FM family and listeners to join us. Here we go Cubby, and welcome to the team!”

Carolina Bermudez will continue Mornings on 103.5 KTU and a new cohost will be announced soon.
