William Jewell College will sell 91.9 KWJC Liberty/Kansas City MO to the Curators of the University of Missouri for $2 million. The currently silent KWJC previously was operated by Educational Media Foundation and carrying its “Air 1” network until earlier this year. The sale will make KWJC a sister station to Public News/Talk/Classical 89.3 KCUR-FM Kansas City.
In addition to its nine station deal with Salem Media, Immaculate Heart Media will acquire Catholic 1460 WQOP Jacksonville and 1600 WZNZ Atlantic Beach FL and WZNZ’s CP for 93.7 W229CZ Jacksonville from Queen of Peace Radio for $210,550. The purchase is set up as paying $25,000 for the station licenses with the remainder in payments to the seller’s creditors.
Educational Media Foundation will purchase 88.5 KEKL Mesquite and 91.1 KVKL Las Vegas NV from Southern Nevada Educational Broadcasters for $597,000. Both stations already carry EMF’s “K-Love” network.
After operating Gospel 106.3 WJNI Ladson/Charleston SC via LMA for the past decade, Kirkman Broadcasting is purchasing the station from Thomas Daniels for $1.4 million. An identical deal in 2012 never closed.
Dockins Communications will acquire Silent 96.5 WJTK Columbia City/Lake City FL from its court appointed receiver for $233,580. WJTK must return to operational status by September 14 to prevent its license from being cancelled with a Time Brokerage Agreement to take effect when it does. Dockins owns Classic Rock “99.7 The Zone” 960 WGRO/99.7 W259CU Lake City and Country “Power Country 102.1” WQLC Watertown.
William Tidwell’s Christian Radio Fellowship will purchase Christian 91.9 WKWJ Key West FL from Cornerstone Broadcasting Corporation for $50,000. Tidwell also owns Good Tidings Trust’s “Way Radio” 550 WAYR Fleming Island/Jacksonville and 90.7 WAYR-FM Brunswick GA.
Cantico Nuevo Ministry, which owns a network of Spanish Christian stations in New Jersey and Long Island is expanding to South Texas with a pair of deals with groups held by Paulino Bernal. La Radio Christian Network’s 1260 KLDS and 103.3 KDFM Falfurrias and Paulino Bernal Evangelism’s 92.1 KCZO Carrizo Springs go to Cantico Nuevo for $325,000.
Bicoastal Media is purchasing Standards 910 KURY/105.3 K287CF and Classic Hits 95.3 KURY-FM Brookings OR from Eureka Broadcasting for $500,000. The deal involved an LMA that took effect on August 1. Bicoastal owns three overlapping stations in nearby Crescent City CA: AC 94.3 KCRE-FM, Country 97.9 KPOD-FM and Conservative Talk 1240 KPOD/106.7 K294CX.
