iHeartMedia is reacquiring “100.3 Cat Country” KSNR Fisher MN/Grand Forks ND from the Sun and Snow Station Trust.
KSNR was placed in the divestiture trust in 2018 following iHeartMedia’s exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy when the company lost its grandfathered status to hold its existing five signals in the Grand Forks market.
Last week KMSR Inc. completed the move of Sports 1520 KMSR Mayville ND to Northwood ND, which placed the station in the Grand Forks market. Upon doing so it brought the number of signals in the market up to fifteen, which places it in the next tier in the ownership limits of six total stations and four on one band allowed.
The other station in the Snow and Sand Trust, Rock “107.7 The Fox” WHFX Darien GA was returned to iHeartMedia in 2019 by the company changing the city-of-license on Adult R&B “V101.5” WSOL-FM Brunswick GA to Yulee FL.
KSNR will rejoin the iHeartMedia cluster that includes CHR “XL 93” KKXL-FM Grand Forks, Classic Hits “96.1 The Fox” KQHT Crookston MN, Rock “KJ 108” KJKJ Grand Forks, and Sports “1440 KFAN” KKXL Grand Forks
