MediaCo Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT New York has announced that TT Torrez will move into the station’s open midday slot for “Tap in with TT” starting Thursday, April 27.
The Bronx native has been with WQHT since 2014 serving as a multimedia personality in addition to her roles as VP/Arist & Label Relations and Music Director. She has previously had stints on-air at WCHH Charlotte, WNSB Norfolk, and WUSL Philadelphia plus served as Music Director and host for WCDX Richmond and as a music programmer for Music Choice.
“Tap in with TT” will continue to feature DJ Enuff’s 12pm mixshow and “New at 2 with Drewski”. Torrez fills the opening created by Megan Ryte’s resignation in early February.
HOT 97, New York-based iconic Hip-Hop media brand and broadcast radio station, launches Tap in with TT. Beginning April 27th, listeners can tune in weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the hottest music, interviews, pop culture news, and midday vibes from a dynamic and talented trio of hosts, including TT Torrez, DJ Enuff, and DJ Drewski.
In addition to her programming duties HOT 97’s Vice President, Music Director and Multimedia Personality TT Torrez will lead the new radio show Tap in With TT, which brings new energy and fresh content from start to finish. At noon, 25-year HOT 97 vet and hip hop legend DJ Enuff will deliver his signature style to the lunch-time crowd with “It’s Enuff Midday Mix,” an hour-long mix featuring the biggest hits in the culture. DJ Drewski, known for his deep connection with this generation of music lovers and artists, will close out the show with the “New at 2 with Drewski,” a segment spotlighting the newest and most exciting emerging Hip Hop artists.
As Hip-Hop and music culture evolves, Tap in With TT will be a full interactive content show that will leave the audience wanting more. “I’m fulfilling my dream as a voice of women in the culture, from the business side to on-air, which is especially poignant at a time when female hip hop artists have dominated the airwaves. Torrez’s ongoing support for women is reflected in the 2023 HOT 97 Summer Jam lineup, which features headliner Cardi B along with rising female artists including Ice Spice, Lola Brooke, Coi Leray and GloRilla. The iconic Hip-Hop music festival returns to New York June 4th at the new UBS Arena at Belmont Park, in Elmont, NY.
