Funkmaster Flex is NOT exiting MediaCo Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT New York, but other members of the station’s on-air team are.
Flex’s Thursday tease of his “LAST SHOW ON HOT97 AT 7PM” was for the timeslot and not the station in general. He will be moving up to 5-10pm. The change is part of a major revamp of the WQHT lineup that we’ve confirmed after first reported by TMZ. “Ebro in the Morning” will extend for an hour to run from 5 to 11am. Current afternoon host Nessa will move up to 1-5pm with Flex following from 5-10pm. DJ Drewski will fill the 11am to 1pm slot.
Exiting the station are TT Torrez and DJ Enuff. Torrez had been with WQHT since 2014 as VP/Arist & Label Relations and Music Director. She began hosting middays in April 2023. Torrez previously had stints on-air at WCHH Charlotte, WNSB Norfolk, and WUSL Philadelphia plus served as Music Director and host for WCDX Richmond and as a music programmer for Music Choice.
DJ Enuff joined Hot 97 in 1998 after serving as the Notorious BIG’s road DJ. He most recently had been serving as the station’s Mixshow Coordinator and 12pm hour DJ as well as mixing on sister Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS after spending time in multiple dayparts including early mornings, afternoons and late nights. Enuff began his at “98.7 Kiss-FM” WRKS-FM as DJ Red Alert’s fill-in and later mixing two days per week there prior to joining Biggie on tour.
He got his start filling in for the legendary DJ Red Alert on 98.7 KISS FM, where he quickly became a permanent substitute and eventually advanced to his own time slot two days a week from 10:00 pm to midnight. Enuff’s popularity within the club and private party scenes lead to a leap of fate when he caught the attention of the late legend, Notorious BIG, who invited him to become his road DJ. This touring experience is still one of the most memorable times in his career.

Original Report 8/28: After 33 years at MediaCo Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT New York, Funkmaster Flex is teasing his departure from the station following his show on Monday, September 1.
Flex made the announcement on social media this afternoon writing, “THIS MONDAY LABOR DAY SEPTEMBER 1ST WITH BE MY LAST SHOW ON HOT97 AT 7PM! ALL THINGS COME TO AN END! END OF AN ERA THAT I ENJOYED VERY MUCH! I SUPER ENJOYED IT ALL! I WILL MAKE THE LAST SHOW A GREAT ONE! APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED ME OVER THE YEARS!”
Flex originally joined WQHT in 1992 as a mixer and later took over the night shift when the station completed its move from Dance leaning Rhythmic CHR to Hip Hop the following year. He previously had stints as a mixer at “98.7 Kiss-FM” WRKS and 107.5 WBLS.
