Update 3/16: As expected, WPFM has relaunched as Rhythmic CHR “Hot 107.9” at 5:05pm. The station had previously used the “Hot 107.9” moniker and Rhythmic format from 1998 to 2004 under the WLHR calls.

Original Report 2/9: Double O Radio CHR “107.9 PFM” WPFM Panama City, FL appears on the verge of relaunching just in time for Spring Break.
Hot1079PC.com was registered by Envisionwise, the provider that manages the web properties for Double O as well as many other radio groups nationwide.
WPFM has fallen well behind Magic Broadcasting’s “Island 106” 105.9 WILN for the CHR crown in the market. Perhaps a Rhythmic shift to position the station between WILN and Clear Channel’s market leading Urban “99.3 The Beat” WEBZ could help find a unique niche for the station.
Longtime RadioInsight contributor @stelly points out that WPFM used the “Hot 107.9” moniker and Hot1079pc.com domain when it was Rhythmic CHR as WLHR from 1999 to 2003. So when this move comes to pass it will be a return to a previous position for the station.
