RadioInsight has confirmed that the Superadio syndicated “Ebro In The Morning” featuring Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez has come to an end at MediaCo Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT New York.
Darden tweeted, “It’s done. More to come. #EbroInTheMorning” with Rosenberg following, “I lived out a childhood dream and it was amazing. Very excited for what’s next #ebrointhemorning #reallate”. In an Instagram video, Rosenberg added, “I told you guys for a long time change is afoot. Change can be beautiful. There are some changes on the horizon. Stay tuned.” All references to the morning show have been removed from Hot97.com.
Ebro In The Morning debuted in 2012 when then WQHT Program Director Darden moved back to mornings after previously hosting the daypart from 2004-07. He also serves as a host on Apple Music Radio. Rosenberg has been with WQHT since 2007, while also co-hosting afternoons on “ESPN New York” 880 WHSQ and serving as a host and announcer for the WWE. Stylez joined the morning show in 2013 after previously working as a digital producer for the station. She also hosts at SiriusXM and previously worked at 105.9 WCAA and “Power 105.1” WWPR-FM.
Stylez shared, “We had the best time… the most beautiful listeners and got to work with legends I love. I’m so proud of the work we did together… I lived so many of my dreams at Hot97 and got to work with my best friends! ….and best friends don’t let go… trust me, @oldmanebro @rosenbergradio and I have plans and more coming next year!”
Darden has since posted a video claiming the venture capitalists at MediaCo were responsible for his exit due to his leftist views and telling people to subscribe to his YouTube channel.
Syndication distributor Superadio Networks commented, “While the distribution of Ebro in the Morning in its current form is ending, Superadio remains fully committed to the Ebro brand. We look forward to continuing to bring Ebro’s voice and talent to the masses across new platforms, which we’ll be sharing more about very soon.”
