After launching in Atlanta last fall, MediaCo’s “Hot 97 TV” is debuting on Tuesday in New York.
WASA-LD Port Jervis NY, which transmits from One World Trade Center, will drop MediaCo’s “Estrella TV” on March 31 for the new network featuring programming from “Hot 97” WQHT including Mornings with Mero, Nessa On Air, Funk Flex Freestyles and other programming such as Hot 97 News and content from Trace and other Afro-culture programming.
The station is available over-the-air on channel 24 and on Spectrum channels 811 and 1236 in the New York area. Estrella TV will continue to be seen on full-power WMBC-TV Newton NJ.
MediaCo EVP/Content & Growth Kudjo Sogadzi said, “This is a natural evolution of one of the most powerful brands in media. Expanding Hot 97 TV in New York allows us to meet our audience everywhere – on-air, on screen, and across platforms, while creating new opportunities for brands to engage with culture in real time.”
VP/General Manager Maire Mason commented, “New York is the foundation of Hot 97. This launch gives advertisers direct access to a deeply engaged audience through a truly multiplatform solution spanning TV, audio, and digital.”
