After announcing its intent to acquire 89.5 KEWU-FM Cheney/Spokane WA in February 2025, Oldies Preservation Society has filed its deal to purchase the station from Eastern Washington University. While the originally announced deal was for $510,000 plus $300,000 in publicity and advertising credit, the filed deal is for $360,000 at closing, four payments of $25,000 every six months, and the $300,000 in advertising credits. Oldies Preservation Society moved its programming to “Kool 89.5” from 107.1 KPKL Deer Park last October.
Chris Ehrenfeld, Mark Vitali, and James Kitchen’s Chapel Hill Media Group sells Full Service AAA “97.9 The Hill” 1360 WCHL/97.9 W250BP Chapel Hill NC and Chapelboro.com to the John Stillman led Chapelboro Media Group for $525,000. The station’s real estate assets are being sold separately in a deal not needed to be filed with the FCC.
Gene McElfresh’s GMC Holdings acquires Country 95.1 WFLE-FM Flemingsburg KY from Donald and Venita Bowles’ Dreamcatcher Communications for $390,000. McElfresh is the play-by-play voice for Flemingsburg Central High School sports. Dreamcatcher has a pending deal to sell its other two stations Hot AC “99.5 The Edge” WAOL Ripley OH and Country “C103” WRAC Georgetown OH to Kenneth and Kimberly Smith’s Ice Cream Castle LLC.
