Capitol Broadcasting AC “Mix 101.5” WRAL-FM Raleigh is losing two-thirds of its morning show as Bryan Lord and Sarah King will both be departing the show in the next week.
Lord, King and Kyle Smelser debuted as “Two Men And A Mom” in August 2016 and currently go by the more defined “Mix Mornings with Kyle, Bryan, and Sarah”. Smelser and Lord had joined the station after previously being as part of the morning show at Radio-One CHR “Radio Now 100.9” WNOW-FM Indianapolis. King was a newcomer to commercial radio at the time.
Lord told listeners, “Part of this decision is taking care of family. NC has been the place to be in my life for the last 10 years. It is very clear to me though that I’m being called home back to Indy. It is going to grow the heart of my family exponentially.” His last day with the station will be Friday, July 17.
King said, “I’m ready to spend more time with my family and pursue the next avenue in my life.” She will exit Wednesday, July 22.
Smelser will remain in mornings with current midday host Meghan Lamontagne joining him starting next week. She joined WRAL-FM in February 2024 after previously co-hosting mornings and then middays at iHeartMedia CHR “G105” WDCG in the market in 2022-23. She is also in-arena host for the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and NWSL’s NC Courage
Smelsen commented, ““I plan on sticking around like Joey Tribbiani from Friends. I’m so grateful to have been able to work with two of my best friends the last 10 years. The relationship we have with our ‘morning show fam’ is something the three of us are so incredibly grateful for.”
