After letting go of all of its local talent in iHeartMedia’s June layoffs, Sports 1460 KXNO Des Moines/106.3 KXNO-FM Ankeny IA is launching a new local afternoon show today as former “Lazer 103.3” KAZR morning co-host Mike Wickett brings his “Wickett’s World” to the station from 2-5pm weekdays.
While spending the past five years in mornings at KAZR until exiting in March, Wickett has spent the majority of his career in Sports talk. He has hosted a weekly Sports show in the Des Moines market for Saga’s “ESPN 1350” KRNT, co-hosted mornings at Sports 1250 WSSP Milwaukee from 2006 to 2016 and has also worked at Cumulus’ 1050 WTKA Ann Arbor MI as well as middays at Audacy News/Talk 98.1 KMBZ-FM Kansas City.
Wickett also hosts weekends at Cumulus Media’s Westwood One Sports Radio network and will continue in that role as well.
