WIAT-TV sportscaster and former WJOX/WZNN host Scott Griffin is hosting mornings billed as “Smashmouth Radio”. The station is currently airing NBC Sports Radio’s Newy Scruggs from 9-11am and Fox Sports Radio’s Rich Eisen from 11am-2pm and Colin Cowherd from 2-5pm. The station will soon begin simulcasting “The Drive with Wes Neighbors and Steve Moulton” from sister “ESPN 97.7 The Zone” WZZN Huntsville from 5-7pm. NBC and Fox Sports Radio network programming fill other dayparts along with Atlanta Falcons football.
W256CD joins Cumulus’ trio of “Jox 94.5” WJOX-FM, “ESPN 100.5” WJQX, and “690 Jox 2” WJOX in running Sports programming in Birmingham.
