Columbus, GA To Lose Only Spanish Station

Unidos 107.7 W299AX WLTC-HD3 Columbus PMB Broadcasting Jim Martin Joe BrannanPMB Broadcasting will drop the format on Spanish CHR “Unidos 107.7” W299AX Columbus, GA/103.7 WLTC-HD3 at the end of 2014.

Co-Owner Jim Martin told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, “the community hasn’t really embraced the station. If you put something out there and the community wants it, they kind of adhere to it. But from a ratings standpoint it has been disappointing.”

A new format for the station has not been disclosed yet, though the newspaper reports an announcement will be made in a couple weeks.

In addition to W299AX, PMB Broadcasting operates five full powered stations and three additional HD fed translators in the Columbus market. The stations are: Classic Hits “Boomer 95.3” WRLD Valley AL, Country “Kissin’ 99.3” WKCN Fort Benning South, AC “103.7 Lite-FM” WLTC Cusseta, CHR “Q107.3” WCGQ Columbus, and Southern Gospel 1420 WRCG Columbus. The other translators are “Classic Rock 105.5” W288CV Columbus/WLTC-HD2, Urban “Hip-Hop 106.5” W293BV Columbus/WKCN-HD3, and Active Rock “106.9 Rocks” W295AY Crystal Valley/WKCN-HD2.
