Radio Station Sales Translator CP Acquisition 1270 KFSQ Palm Springs Morris CommunicationsAmidst rumors of an acquisition by Alpha Media, Morris Communications is making an asset exchange in the Palm Springs market to remove a potential loss of a grandfathered asset. Morris will exchange Sports “Fox Sports 1270” KFSQ Thousand Palms, CA to Sunnylands Broadcasting for 95.5 KCLZ Twentynine Palms. Morris currently leases KCLZ from Sunnylands to rebroadcast Rock 93.7 KCLB Coachella and will lease back 1270 after the exchange closes. 95.5 KCLZ is technically part of the Victor Valley market allowing Morris to not lose any of its grandfathered holdings following a sale.

Family Stations is continuing to prune off some of its non-core assets. 1210 KEBR Rocklin/Sacramento, CA goes to Spice Radio, Inc. for $600,000. Principles in Spice Radio are in the process of acquiring 87.9 KSFH Mountain View/San Jose and 620 KIGS Visalia, CA.

Heartland Communications is selling four of its stations to holding companies controlled by Steven Marks. News/Talk 1230 WFER and Country “93.1 The Bull” WIKB Iron River, MI go to Iron River Community Broadcasting and News/Talk 980 WPFP and Country “98Q” WCQM Park Falls, WI head to Park Falls Community Broadcasting for $488,000.

Forever Media is selling Sports 1150 WHUN and Oldies “Hunny 106.3” WHUN-FM Huntingdon, PA to Southern Belle/Seven Mountains Media for $100,000. Seven Mountains Media is run by Kristen Cantrell, the daughter of Forever Media head Kerby Confer.

Vermont Public Radio is being donated “88.7 The Mike” WWPV-FM Colchester/Burlington, VT from St. Michaels College for no consideration. The donation is due to St. Michaels being granted an LPFM CP.

Fivestar Media donates Silent 100.9 KPER Eunice/Hobbs, NM to New Mexico Junior College Foundation. The assignor has applied to convert the station to non-commercial status.

Ted Austin’s Jackson Hole Broadcasting sells Silent 1490 KJNT Jackson, WY to Dan Dockstader’s SVI Media for $60,000. Austin also sells the CP for 94.5 K233CZ Jackson to Bott Radio’s Community Broadcasting for $20,000.

LovCom, Inc’s CP for 107.9 KBHM Basin, WY heads to Vic Michael’s Kona Coast Radio for $30,000.

Templo Pentecostes Monte de Sion is donating 88.3 KSBC Nile, WA to Gutierrez Communications due to the group being awarded an LPFM CP in Buena, WA.

Translator Sales

Educational Media Foundation acquires the CP for 103.9 K280GB Pleasant View/Denver, CO from Mary Guthrie for $85,000.

Sarkes Tarzian is purchasing 99.5 W258BY Fort Wayne, IN from Fort Wayne Catholic Radio for $190,000. The 220 watt translator CP will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 95.1 WAJI Fort Wayne.

Julie Scalf’s Aaron and Alexander Community Radio sells 90.1 W211BC Moulton, AL to Pilati Investments Corp. for $5,000. Concurrently, W211BC is applying to relocate to 100.7 with 10 watts at 27 meters (Coverage Map).

Alexandra Communications acquires the CP for 106.1 K291BS Richland/Kennewick, WA from Butterfield Broadcasting for $30,000.

Family Stations also sells 106.7 K294BD Gillette, WY to Legend Communications of Wyoming for $35,000. Legend will rebroadcast News/Talk 1270 KIML Gillette on K294BD.

Vic Michael’s Mountain Community Translators purchases the CP for 97.3 K247BU Lancaster, CA from Mary Guthrie for $60,000 and 106.3 K292GF Baker, CA from The Association for Community Education for $10,000.
