As previously announced Townsquare Media flipped 94.3 KMAX-FM Wellington/Fort Collins, CO to Alternative “94.3 The X” at noon today.
KMAX-FM had been stunting since Saturday afternoon with formats of the day including CHR, Tween Hits, and Christmas music after discarding its previous Active Rock “94.3 Loudwire” identity. The new format is being positioned as “Front Range Alternative” and featuring a playlist of songs from the 1990s through now. The station indicates it will feature local hosts daily from 6am to 7pm.

Billing itself temporarily as “Spin 94“, KMAX-FM is running a different format every day until 12pm on Wednesday, August 5 when it reveal its new permanent identity. The first stunt format was CHR and followed today with a Radio Disney knockoff.
On Wednesday KMAX-FM will flip to Alternative “94.3 The X“. The announcement was made at a listener concert held by sister Hot AC “99.9 The Point” KKPL on Saturday night.
