With all the controversy surrounding namesake Bubba The Love Sponge, Beasley Media has made the first move towards potentially separating themselves from the embattled morning host.
The former “Bubba 98.7” WBRN-FM Holmes Beach/Tampa FL has rebranded as “98.7 No Rules Rock” with the station’s website showing it as “Under Construction”. Bubba The Love Sponge remains in mornings at this point despite the renaming.
Bubba The Love Sponge is currently embattled in a lawsuit with Nielsen Audio claiming that the host attempted to to distort WBRN’s ratings by bribing PPM panelists. WBRN-FM debuted in February of this year following a month-long stunt looping Bubba’s show. It previously was Sports “98.7 The Fan” WHFS-FM under CBS ownership.

Looks like they released the rest of the airstaff other than Bubba in the mornings as you mentioned and a weekend host. Hmmm…
There was no other air staff. All the other day parts were voicetracked by Bubba’s morning show sidekicks.
They didn’t really have an airstaff. Bubba’s co-hosts have voicetracked shows the rest of the day, while JoMama Johnson does the Quiet Storm on Sunday nights.

The website and the Facebook page have since been updated with a new logo (although the Twitter page still has “Under Construction”).
The Twitter page has been updated, and they just tweeted to a listener that BTLS is still on their lineup.
Their website is back up, but now with minimal references to “BTLS.”
