Woodward Communications CHR “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ De Pere/Green Bay WI is adding a simulcast on 92.9 WKZY Chilton/Appleton on Monday, Februrary 15.
WKZY currently simulcasts Woodward’s 80s/90s Hits “KZ 104.3” WKZG Seymour. Along with the simulcast changing, WKSZ will also bring morning hosts Doug Erickson & Mary Love back over from WKZG. Doug & Mary joined WKZG when the station debuted its current format in December 2012.
With their move to WKSZ, the current morning show of Precious and Nikki is no more. Precious will move to nights replacing the current voicetracking in the timeslot while Nikki moves to sales for the company.
I smell a format change coming. This station did last longer than the other Gen X stations, but it may be time to give up the ghost and flip to…(shudders) Country.
Thanks to the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, I shouldn’t be surprised that Woodward gave Kiss a simulcast for the Valley. However, I’m not sure how much the company would put into a new format–even Country–if it’d be on just 104.3 (and maybe a translator or two closer to Green Bay). Might adding a western simulcast for Razor (WZOR) be of some value?
