Daily Domains 3/11: FM Sports Coming To Seattle

[membership level="2,3"] Seattle could score a new FM Sports talker as a new team enters the game to take on the two incumbent AM players. Hubbard Radio registered ten domains for what is now low-rated Modern AC " Click 98.9 " KLCK-FM Seattle to make the move to Sports: 989FMTheScore.com , MySports989FM.com , SeattleScore989.com , SeattleSports989.com , SeattleFMSports.com , Sports989.com , Sports989FM.com , SportsOnFMSeattle.com , TheScoreSeattle.com , and TheScoreSeattle989.com . Hubbard has also filed a request to change KLCK-FM's call letters to KVRQ. A move to Sports would place KLCK-FM in a three way competition with Bonneville's " ESPN 710 " KIRO and iHeartMedia's 950 KJR , who combined for a 6.5 share of the Seattle audience in the January Nielsen Audio PPMs. The format is also heard in the market on two lesser players as iHeart carries the national Fox Sports Radio lineup on 850 KHHO Tacoma and CBS Sports Radio is on CBS Radio's 1090 KFNQ Seattle. The timing of the domain registrations and call sign filing come as MLB's Seattle Mariners announced a multi-year extension to remain on 710 KIRO, while the University of Washington Huskies remain locked up on Sinclair's News 1000 KOMO /97.7 KOMO-FM through 2020. That leaves the biggest fish in the Seattle market potentially up for grabs. The NFL's Seattle Seahawks and co-owned MLS Seattle Sounders signed a multi-year extension in November 2012 that should be coming up for renewal.
