Hall Communications continues its sell-off as it has sold “Cat Country 98.1” WCTK New Bedford MA/Providence RI and Classic Hits “Big 101.3” 1340 WNBH/101.3 W267BY New Bedford MA to John Fuller’s Red Wolf Broadcasting for $2.35 million.
Fuller, who also operates under the Full Power Radio brand, will begin operating the stations via LMA on March 16. He commented, ““I am thrilled to add Cat Country 98.1 WCTK, Big 101.3 and WNBH to our roster of New England radio stations and streaming platforms. WCTK is an iconic station with tremendous reach, a powerful brand and an outstanding team. We are always looking to expand and grow with strong media brands and events. Hall Communications has done an exceptional job building a strong foundation for the past 55 years. WCTK is the highest-rated country music station in the Top 50 radio markets and is continually ranked No. 1 in the Nielsen ratings in Providence. We look forward to building on that success and momentum.”
Fuller, which also owns stations across Connecticut and Burlington VT and Springfield MA, will add WCTK and WNBH to a Providence cluster that includes Spanish CHR “Latina 100.3” WKKB Middletown RI and Oldies “Kool” 1180 WSKP/104.3 W282CB Hope Valley. He added, “One of the greatest assets in this transaction is the talented staff that has helped make these stations successful. The current employees, many of which I have known for years, will remain in place and will have the opportunity to join our team as we move forward.”
Red Wolf Vice President Tim Burrows added, “We are live and local in the communities we serve, and it’s an exciting time to grow our company with three stations of this caliber.”
Dick Foreman of [Richard A. Foreman Associates, Inc.] of Stamford represented and consulted Red Wolf on the purchase, while Todd Fowler of Fowler Communications represented Hall Communications. The deal follows Hall’s sale of its Lakeland FL cluster to MARC Radio last month. Hall retains its five station cluster in Burlington VT and six stations in Norwich/New London CT.
