Update 5/18/09: As we first reported on Friday, KKSF did indeed become “103.7 The Band” at 3:00pm PDT. The new format is straddling the line between Classic Hits and Classic Rock with a heavy 70’s emphasis. The Smooth Jazz programming that had existed on KKSF for the prior 22 years will continue online and on KKSF’s HD2 feed.

Original Post 5/15/09: Is Clear Channel preparing to flip Smooth Jazz 103.7 KKSF San Francisco? A number of new domain registrations seem to point towards something happening. 1037theband.com, 1037band.com, band1037.com, banned1037.com, theband1037.com, and thebandsf.com were all registered by Clear Channel yesterday. We can’t seem to indicate a potential new format based on the registrations, other than some form of Rock. We’ll be following this one closely.
