Viva Media LLC launched Rhythmic Hot AC “Wild 104.3” KQFX Borger/Amarillo at 12pm today.
The station is focusing on Party Hits of the 1990s through now with Rihanna, Drake, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Dr. Dre, Maroon 5, and Pitbull as core artists.
Launching with a full airstaff, “Wild 104.3” will feature The Hacker Morning Show from 6-10am. Tommy The Hacker, Angel Dee, and Josh were most recently hosting mornings at Townsquare Media CHR “96.9 Kiss-FM” KXSS Amarillo. Newcomer Jessi will host middays from 10am-3pm, Cruz, previously of Country “101.9 Blake-FM” KATP joins for afternoons, while former “93.1 The Beat” KQIZ host Chino The Hustler will host nights.
KQFX is in the process of being sold to Viva Media from Tejas Broadcasting and was previously Regional Mexican “La Caliente 104.3“. The station had been stunting with filler music and for the past two days with a loop of Tone Loc’s “Wild Thang”. Accompanying the station launch had been a social media based scavenger hunt giving away money to local residents that generated over 9,000 Facebook followers preceding the launch of the format.

After keeping Amarillo hunting for weeks with a massively successful online scavenger hunt, Viva Media LLC., proudly announces the debut of the new Wild 104.3 (KQFX) as Amarillo’s Party Station.
Featuring Party Hits of the 1990s through now, Wild 104.3 will feature superstar artists and songs from the likes of Rihanna, Drake, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Dr. Dre, Maroon 5, and Pitbull.
The new Amarillo’s Party Station will feature many beloved personalities from the Texas Panhandle. ‘Cruz’, formerly of 101.9 KATP will host afternoons from 3-7pm and ‘Chino The Hustler’ most recently at 93.1 KQIZ will host evenings from 7pm-12am. Later this month will feature the debut of the Hacker Morning Show. Featuring ‘Tommy The Hacker’, ‘Angel Dee’, and ‘Just Josh’, the program has dominated mornings in the market for many years at 96.9 KXSS and will lead off the Wild schedule from 6-10am. Newcomer ‘Jessi’ rounds out the on-air lineup hosting middays from 10am until 3pm.
Mixes will be integral to Wild 104.3 programming, with three mixes per day. DJ Dangerous Dan will play the biggest throwbacks on the Midday Meltdown at 12pm. At 9pm Chino will feature the best local DJ’s playing the hottest hits. Tommy The Hacker brings his world famous 5pm Traffic Jam to Wild during Cruz In The Afternoon.
For the past month, Wild 104.3 staffers have been secretly leading the online Amarillo’s Scavenger Hunt with 9,000 Facebook followers and another 3,000 signed up for exclusive e-mail clues from the station and its sponsors. With the the debut of the new format, Wild 104.3 is planning its biggest Scavenger Hunt yet starting on Thursday, May 4 with over $3,000 to be distributed to local hunters.
