The new format is positioning as “The Soul of Music City” and gives a competitor to Heidelberg Broadcasting’s 1470 WVOL and Cumulus Urban AC “92Q” WQQK.
Original Report 5/22: The Cromwell Group has pulled the plug on Gospel “102.1 The Light” W271AB Nashville/WPRT-HD2 Pegram TN and its currently stunting with a loop of Los Del Rio’s “Macarena”.
This is the second time in as many years that Cromwell has used the Macarena to launch a new format in Nashville. 830 WQZQ Goodlettsville/93.3 W227DC Nashville utilized the same stunt last year prior to the launch of “Classic Hits 93.3“.

Actually the THIRD time overall that Cromwell has stuck us with “Macarena.” Remember the ORIGINAL launch of “The Party” back in 1996? “Macarena” was a current hit back then, but it has become tiresome old hat by now.
