The University of North Dakota sells Public News/Talk/Classical 89.3 KUND-FM Grand Forks and simulcaster 88.5 K202BK Thief River Falls MN and AAA/Jazz 90.7 KFJM Grand Forks to Prairie Public Radio for $220,000. The buyer has been operating the UND stations along with its seven other FMs, five translators, and nine television stations across North Dakota and Montana.
Educational Media Foundation began operating 98.7 WQME Anderson IN from Anderson University in May as part of its “Air 1” network. It has now finalized its agreement to purchase WQME for $725,000.
EMF also acquires Christian 91.3 KFLF Somers/Kalispell MT from Fresh Life Church for $30,000.
Oak Ridge FM sells 1180 WVLZ Knoxville and 101.5 W268BP Rockville TN to Aaron Ishmael and Karl Lieber’s Mid-Century Radio for $30,000. The deal includes a Time Brokerage Agreement that took effect last month. Oak Ridge FM will also begin to program Mid-Century Radio’s 1120 WKCE Maryville TN which is the licensed parent for Oak Ridge’s 97.1 W246DH Seymour TN as well as receive right of first offer and right of first refusal to purchase WKCE.
Ambrosio Vigil will purchase the 50% stake of California Broadcasting Company and its “El Patron” 1460 KRRS/94.7 K234DD Santa Rosa and “La Z” 1490 KZNB/102.5 K273CU Petaluma CA that he does not already own for $201,181.48 by buying out Gustavo and Jaime Marquez’ 25% stakes each.
Mayberry Broadcasting Company sells Talk 1450 KTIP/101.3 K267CG Porterville CA to JA Ventures for $300,000. The Spanish language operator owns “Gordita La Grande” 1370 KGEN Tulare and 94.5 KGEN-FM Hanford CA.
Cochise Broadcasting acquires Silent 1470 KNXN/99.1 K256CJ/107.5 K298BZ Sierra Vista AZ from Good Music Inc. for $75,000.
Top O’ Texas Educational Broadcasting Foundation sells 91.5 KOGW Stratford TX to Crystal Carpenter’s Next Radio LLC. for $10,000.
After going into bank foreclosure, Jimmie Bell is transferring 1230 WCBT Roanoke Rapids NC back to former owner Johnson Broadcast Services. Bell purchased WCBT from Johnson in December 2016 for $150,000.
