Longtime Philadelphia and San Diego morning host Chio ‘The Hitman’ Acosta is joining Townsquare Media to host mornings at Country 97.5 WOKQ Dover/Portsmouth NH and “103.7 The Peak” WPKQ North Conway NH/Portland ME.
Chio will join incumbent co-host Kira Lew at both stations. Lew has been part of the WOKQ/WPKQ morning show since 2016 after previously working on air at sister AC 94.9 WHOM.
Chio hosted mornings at iHeartMedia Classic Hip-Hop “Real 106.1” WISX Philadelphia until its flip to Soft AC last November. He has also spent multiple tours at CHR “Q102” WIOQ with time in nights, afternoons and mornings and mornings at Rhythmic CHR “Wired 96.5” WRDW-FM since first coming to Philadelphia in 1995. He has also hosted nights at “Z100” WHTZ New York and had multiple runs in San Diego with time at “Magic 92.5” XHRM, “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM, “Jammin 95.7” KSSX, and “Q106” KKLQ.
Townsquare Media has announced today that radio veteran Chio Acosta has joined heritage country outlet WOKQ (97.5)/Portsmouth, NH as the new co-host of “Chio and Kira in the morning,” set to debut Monday, April 1. Co-host Kira Lew remains in place as the morning show’s co-host. The new program will be simulcast on sister WPKQ-FM (103-& The PEAK) in Portland, ME.

Chio Acosta’s radio adventures have taken him from Florida to San Diego to New York to Philadelphia where he most recently anchored mornings on WISX (106.1 FM). Kira Lew joined WOKQ in 2017. The new show launches with “Win Chio and Kira’s Cash,” a chance to win $5,000 3 times per day, and Chio and Kira’s “5 Town Tour” where listeners will be encouraged to suggest the best places for breakfast for the show to broadcast from in May.
