Longtime Charlotte personality John Hancock announced on-air today that he will retire from afternoons from Entercom News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte/99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC on October 18.
Hancock has been a constant in the Charlotte market since 1990 with two long runs at WBT sandwiched by two years in mornings at Alternative “106.5 The End” WEND from 1999-2001. Prior to coming to Charlotte, he hosted mornings at WIVY Jacksonville and programmed KBCO Denver and WARM Scranton.
In his on-air announcement Hancock stated that he chose now to retire because he can and wants to focus on his health.
