Lonestar 98.7 Amarillo Rebrands As Thunder

Thunder 98.7 Lonestar Lone Star KPRF AmarilloTownsquare Media relaunched Classic Rock “Lonestar 98.7” KPRF Amarillo TX as “Thunder 98.7” today.

With the change the station has dropped the syndicated Walton & Johnson morning show. A new morning show has not been announced yet.

KPRF flipped from Variety Hits to Classic Rock in June 2017. In the Spring 2019 Nielsen Audio ratings the station had a 2.5 share.
