Good News Radio will acquire Cornerstone Community Radio’s seven stations and seven translators in Illinois for $1.1 million. The stations involved in the deal are the Christian AC network of “WLUJ Family of Stations” 89.7 WLUJ Springfield, 90.3 WJWR Bloomington, 88.3 WRLJ White Hall, 88.1 WLWJ Petersburg, 93.5 W228BB Jacksonville, 93.5 W228BG Beardstown, 100.1 W261CQ Decatur, 100.1 W261AF Lincoln, 104.7 W284BT Bloomington plus 89.7 WHPA Macomb and Preaching 1370 WLLM Lincoln, 90.1 WLLM-FM Carlinville, 105.3 W287BP Lincoln, and 105.3 W287CK Springfield. Good News Radio owns Christian Preaching/AC “Great News Radio” 89.3 WGNJ St. Joseph and 102.5 WGNN Fisher.
Randy Michaels’ RadioActive LLC sells CHR “94.9 The Bay” WUPZ Chocolay Township, Classic Country “The Maverick” 96.7 WUPG Republic, Classic Hits “100.3 The Point” WUPT Gwinn, and Classic Rock “Eagle 107.3” WUPF Powers MI to Armada Media’s AMC Partners Escanaba for $650,000. AMC has operated the stations via LMA since May 2016. Terry Shockley and Chris Bernier announced the purchase of eight other stations in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in early October but no deal has been filed with the FCC.
Port Broadcasting sells Classic Country “Country Road” 1400 WCYR Veazie/102.9 W275CQ Bangor ME to MaineInvests LLC for $100,000.
Joseph O’Rourke’s JKO Media Group is purchasing Classic Hits 105.9 WMMC Marshall IL from JDL Broadcasting for $700,000. O’Rourke serves as morning host and Sports Director of WMMC, while seller JD Spangler is afternoon host and served as PD/morning host at WUSN Chicago until buying WMMC in 1998.
North of Nashville, Lightning Broadcasting is selling Variety 1100 WSGI and Conservative Talk 1590 WDBL Springfield TN to Eben-Ezer Broadcasting Corporation for $275,000.
Translator Sales
Hispanic Family Christian Network sells 98.7 K254BZ Fairbanks/Houston TX to Music Masala Inc. for $1.15 million. The translator already rebroadcasts the buyer’s South Asian “Masala Radio” via Cox’s 107.5 KGLK-HD3.
World Radio Network sells 89.3 W207BF Goshen and 89.5 W208BF Elkhart IN to Olivet Nazarene University for $30,000. Both translators will rebroadcast WONU-HD2 Kankakee IL.
