After 36 years in the market, the last 26 at Cox Media Classic Hits 101.1 KONO-FM Helotes/San Antonio, Dave Rios retired following his show this morning.
Rios joined KONO-FM in 1993 after stints at 102.7 KTFM, 104.5 KXZL and 550 KTSA. In discussing his final show with KENS-TV, Rios said “We’re gonna have the finale just before 10. We’re gonna sing that song, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. It’s such a beautiful anthem. And whatever you believe in—don’t stop. We can choose to be powered by fear or powered by love and I choose to be powered by love, and that’s what keeps me going.”
KONO-FM has yet to announce plans for the morning show in 2020.
