Redwood Empire Stereocasters will move Country “106.3 The Bull” KBBL Cazadero CA to 93.7 KJZY Sebastopol on Monday, February 3.
After two weeks of simulcasting, 106.3 will assume the CHR “Beat” format currently heard on 93.7 on February 17. The two stations have already applied to swap call letters.
While both Class A licenses, the 6kW/66m 93.7 signal covers a wider portion of the Santa Rosa market reaching southwards to Petaluma. 106.3’s 1.62kW/194m contour is closer to the Pacific coast with much of its protected contour over the ocean.
KBBL debuted its current identity in May 2015 after previously featuring an older skewing Country format as 106.3 KTRY. The new signal will better help it compete against Amaturo Sonoma Broadcasting’s “Froggy 92.9” KFGY Healdsburg.
The CHR format had just debuted on KJZY in August 2019.
